What started as a simple Tax Day fan page to highlight the striking fact that 95% (actually 98%!) of working Americans got a tax cut from Obama -- has generated a massive outpouring of support from people across the country and the world. Our facebook fans shot up from 2K to 30K and we've received thank you letters from senior citizens, high school students, and even Americans serving in Afghanistan.

This response shows that Americans are hungry for a positive, truthful and grassroots effort to address the challenges facing our nation. Washington and Wall St. need to hear from the rest of us!

Many "working Americans" whose money should work for them, is being appropriated by Obama - like my money was. I paid tens of thousands of dollars in taxes recently. Why? Because I merely live on money that was well-invested for decades. Obama took care of that. He stole my money, took our business, and created a higher unemployment rate and more home foreclosures. Obama forsakes hard-working people for the slime slothing their way along the sidewalks. What scum.

I will agree with you that Obama will need to go in 2012. I hope that whoever it is that replaces him will at least be able to fix things.

I can understand your anger, at losing a family business I am really interested though on how it occurred. This seems to be the quiet truth behind the frustration no one wants to talk about. That is if you do not mind sharing.

I paid tens of thousands of dollars in taxes recently.

So how much did you earn, and how much would you have had to pay last year?

I was a large shareholder in a Regional Bank, which the FDIC shut down under the Obama Administration. My Father founded the Bank. Hundreds of our employees lost their jobs, some - possibly their homes if they can't find work. Banks aren't hiring, looks like they'll lose their homes. Furthermore, we were okay - the FDIC made a rash judgment in our case. It was political. I'm out three million dollars. Does that answer satisfy you? Obama can rot in Hell.

That is harsh, yes it answers a big question on my end because my bank, which was doing good and was actually people friendly got shut down, and replace by a monstrosity. I suspected it as political also in the sense of they were targeting small banks, which were too solid to take out of business by any other means. It was just an suspicion on my end but you just confirmed in in so many words here.

The article suggests that it want to be mainstream and then falls right back on partisan politics. What a disappointment.

4aword..I hear ya...the fix is in.

Socrates, I am open to whatever party gives us a good candidate...

If they can get the word out to get things fixed, and away from all the negative media, while maintaining a neutral position fine.

I did kind of grimace a little at the attacks on the tea party, however there is a point to it, if anything the Tea party does needs to work on controlling their message.

Aren't some of the commenters here doing the same thing?

    BTW, my taxes were less.

Well, since I was discussing the article, I'm not sure about the relevence of the commenters, but, sure, let's move away from partisanship and get things done. I would suggest that the Left needs to do this more than the Right...and here's why...The Prez is a Democrat. If I have a problem with something occuring now, under his watch, then I point that out...non partisan...if the response involves the name of Bush in any capacity I am not the one bringing partisan politics into the discussion. Next thing I know we're discussing who was worse, as opposed to the policy I don't like.

You can't give a tax cut to someone that doesn't pay taxes.

Sure you can..I think it's called an earned income credit or something to that effect.

I think you are right Socrates, but I think this points more to a standard of living issues (purchasing power) when you can say that almost 50% of American families are struggling to make ends meet.

To actually think it is recognized enough by politicians, that they had to pass a tax law to make up for this discrepancy... I am sure most American families would much prefer a higher income then some earned income credit... This in my opinion is where the issue actually is. It is policies and an allowance over the years for a slow devaluation of compensation, which has brought us to this crossroads.
