A day after beating incumbent Arlen Specter in a Pennsylvania Democratic Senate primary contest, Rep. Joe Sestak announced that he would make "enforcement of the pay-as-you-go budget rules" a priority if he wins in November. Good luck to him.

Pay-as-you-go, or paygo, rules require that new entitlement spending and new tax cuts must be paid for dollar-for-dollar with entitlement spending cuts or tax increases. As Paul Ryan, the ranking Republican member of the House Budget Committee has noted, the Democrats under Speaker Nancy Pelosi "have violated pay-as-you-go rules by nearly $1 trillion" over the past three years.

What politicians have done is take what many private citizens have done to an extreme. They want this, they need that, they must have this right now.... yet they can't afford it. They are in debt. A private citizen appreciates a surpus, in terms of credit available. You must pay off your debts in order to have available credit, thus a surplus. Ready for any emergency. Our politicians are so in debt that when an emergency arises, they have to go further into debt or borrow to take care of business. This money came from you and me and is being mismanaged. China is thrilled, we are even more indebted to them. They own all our debts, thus they own us.

When a youngster mismanages their allowance money they are given less and less. The idea is to teach the value of the dollar. Don't spend what you don't have, don't become indebted to anyone.. it can lead to further problems, like borrowing from Peter to pay Paul. America keeps sinking money into foreign governmets crises, which is all political - but it's money that should be & could be well spent right here. We shouldn't let our country fall into ruin whilst helping foreign governments with problems which may very well soon be our own.
